Was Giant Crocodile Killed By Huge Shark Head Washes Up On South African Beach

The recent discovery of a decapitated giant crocodile’s head on a South African beach has sparked speculation and fear that a massive shark may be lurking in the area. A 90-second video capturing Brigitte Cary-Smith and her husband Neale stumbling upon the gruesome find has gained significant attention online, fueling discussions about the mysterious demise of the creature.

Neale, aged 56, and Brigitte, aged 50, who reside nearby and frequently walk their dogs on the beach during sunrise, strongly believe that the crocodile was attacked by a gigantic shark. The prevailing theory is that the crocodile, estimated to be around 3.5 meters long, ventured down the river and entered the sea, where it fell victim to the shark.

In the footage, Neale can be heard explaining, “You can see where the shark has actually ripped it. On the side here in the flesh, you can see the shark teeth.” He further adds that it is not uncommon for sharks to inhabit the waters near St. Lucia and for large sharks to be in close proximity to the shore.

While some speculate that the crocodile may have been killed by poachers, this theory is being challenged because the head and jaw, which are the most valuable parts of the animal, were left intact. Various animals, including a hippo, a tiger shark, and a bull shark, have been proposed as possible culprits. However, local experts argue that only a Great White shark could have cleanly severed the head in such a manner.
