The Embraer EMB 314 Super Tucano, also known as ALX or A-29, is a turbo-prop aircraft designed for a diverse range of missions, including light attack, counterinsurgency (COIN), close air support, aerial reconnaissance in low-threat environments, as well as providing pilot training. Engineered to operate efficiently in high-temperature and high-humidity conditions in extremely rugged terrains, the Super Tucano is a highly maneuverable, low-heat signature aircraft, incorporating 4th-generation avionics and weapons systems to deliver precision-guided munitions.
Currently in service with the air forces of Angola, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, and Indonesia, and has been ordered by Senegal, Honduras, and the United States Air Force.
