A Miracle Birth: 19-Year-Old Mother Welcomes 15-Pound Baby Girl

In a remarkable event that left everyone astonished, on Monday night during a cesarean section, Nandini, a 19-year-old mother from Kritak, gave birth to her daughter in the southern district of Hassan, Karnataka.

What made this birth even more astonishing was the infant’s weight – a whopping 15 pounds (6.8 kg), which is double the average birth weight.

Local physician Dr. Venkatesh Raju expressed, “In my 25 years of practice, I have never seen a baby this huge. She is a wonder. She may not only be the largest baby ever born in India, but also the heaviest baby girl ever born in history, in my opinion.”

The sight of the baby’s enormous size startled everyone, including her mother and the medical professionals involved.

Nandini, who weighed 94 kg and was 5.99 feet tall, had an otherwise straightforward pregnancy but was unaware that she was about to deliver a baby of such extraordinary size. Doctors confirmed that the mother does not have diabetes, which frequently results in newborn obesity, despite her size suggesting high sugar levels.

Before being released from the hospital in a few days, the baby is being kept in the neonatal intensive care unit, where physicians are closely monitoring her development.

Her arrival was a huge surprise for all of us, according to the gynecologist who delivered the infant, Dr. Poornima Manu. There were no complications, and the procedure was completed in approximately 30 minutes. She is quite healthy and large.

The baby breathes properly and doesn’t have any health issues like abnormal thyroid or sugar levels. At first, we were concerned about her blood sugar levels, but that’s typical. The mother underwent routine checkups at the hospital and never showed any symptoms of gestational diabetes or a thyroid condition.

Both the mother and the child are doing well, and they will be released once we are sure the baby is healthy.

Dr. Venkatesh Raju continued, “I visited her in person.” She is a lovely creation of God. I’m very pleased with how well she’s doing.

Arjun and Nandini, who have been married for two years, are eagerly anticipating the birth of their first child. Mom and dad are thrilled to have her here and are eagerly counting down the days until they can bring her home.
